Investor Nordisk Renting is investing in the new K-Citymarket project in Ritaportti, Oulu, where construction started in March 2026. Kesko is developing the new store, while Peab Oy has been selected as the main contractor. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2027.
The new K-Citymarket will have a total floor area of 12,000 m², divided between grocery and non-food departments. Around 430 parking spaces will be built at ground level, while a heated parking garage beneath the store will provide more than 300 additional spaces.
The total value of the investment is nearly EUR 50 million. The project is also expected to be a major local employer during both the construction phase and after completion.
In addition to the K-Citymarket, the site will include a pharmacy and a 24 Pesula laundry service. The block will also feature a K-Nouto click-and-collect point for online orders, a K-Lataus charging point for electric vehicles, a K-Pesu car wash hall and a Rinki recycling point.
Kesko’s new development forms part of the broader growth of Ritaportti, a new commercial and business area serving Ritaharju, Pateniemi and Herukka in Oulu. Located close to the motorway, Ritaportti is emerging as a major retail and service hub around 10 kilometres north of Oulu city centre.

The area is also expected to include a new Biltema store, further strengthening Ritaportti’s role as a growing commercial destination in northern Oulu.
